The Department of Psychological Medicine, National University of Singapore is situated at the National University Hospital, it provides comprehensive psychiatric management including outpatient clinics, inpatient and day hospital services. It has individualised treatment programmes for the broad spectrum of psychiatric disorders, such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, alcohol dependence, anorexia nervosa, dementia, sexual disorders, etc. The multidisciplinary team comprises psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, social worker and occupational therapists.

The Department is responsible for the teaching of psychiatry to medical students and post graduate students of the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. The department is also actively involved in training and in research and actively conducts and collaborates on ground breaking research.

WE CARE COMMUNITY SERVICES LIMITED is the first non-denominational centre treating addictive diseases in Singapore. We provide a community based drop-in centre with facilities, programmes, and counseling for all addictions including drug, alcohol, gambling, and eating disorder. We also work with family members.

We are the only freestanding community outpatient facility in Singapore that is entirely devoted to the treatment of addictions. We currently provide programming to several community agencies and halfway houses, as well as providing public awareness programmes, community education and prevention outreach. We run a day long family programme, provide skill training for recovery and relapse prevention in addition to our intensive outpatient programmes and counselling. We developed a pioneer programme treating the Atypical Theft Offender who compulsively and addictively steals.

Crisis intervention is another important component of our services, and we are able to see clients within 24 hours. We serve over 200 people a month with our programmes and counselling and nearly 500 recovering people and their families attend 9 different addiction support groups a month.

WE CARE is a registered Charity with the status of an Institution of a Public Character (IPC) and is a full member of the National Council of Social Services. Funding is provided through donations, fundraisers and grants.

PROMISES Pte Ltd is a mental health and addictions consultancy and training company started in May 2008. The brainchild of its founder, Dr Munidasa Winslow PROMISES aims to provide quality services primarily in the niche field of addictions and mental health/wellness. It engages a multidisciplinary team of consultant psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, counsellors and other mental health professionals to help in the provision of its services. Currently we have been successfully engaged by individuals, corporations, ministries and even governments to provide specialized consultancy services.

Key areas focused on involve providing world class trainers for skills and knowledge in our core area, and in providing assessment services for both companies, and also needs analyses and evaluation of services provided by agencies and countries. Growth for the company has been rapid, and it gives back to the community by supporting prevention and other training events in Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region.
