Cho Sung Hee
Dr. Sung Hee Cho currently holds the position of Associate Professor in Counseling Department at the Undergraduate and Graduate School of Counseling, Baekseok University, Korea. She also holds the position of Director at the Student Guidance and Counseling Center of the University.
As clinical psychologist and addiction counselor specialized in Addiction and Motivational Interviewing Dr. Cho has been working in the field for over 20 years. She used to work at the National Psychiatric Hospital of Korea over 16 years, involved in substance treatment programs.
As MI trainer, she has been involved in program development and training workshop for professionals in the field of behavior addiction as well as substance addiction.
She served as vice-president of the Korean Association of Addiction Professionals (KAAP) and currently serves as an advisor for College Students’ Gambling Prevention Program under the Gambling Prevention and Control Agency of Korea.

Dr. Philip George is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Addiction Specialist. He is presently a Professor at the Clinical School of the International Medical University and an Honorary Consultant Psychiatrist at Hospital Tuanku Jaafar, Seremban . He is also a Visiting Consultant Psychiatrist at Assunta Hospital and Medical Director of ‘The Mind Faculty’, Mont Kiara in Kuala Lumpur.
He graduated with MB BS in 1988 from Manipal, India and did his Masters in Psychiatry in 1996 at Malaysian National University. He completed a Certificate in Substance Abuse with the University of Melbourne in 2003. He has more than 30 publications in journals and chapters in books. His areas of interest are in, Prevention of Substance Abuse, Managing Stress and Depression.
He is a committee member of the Addiction Medicine Association of Malaysia and the Malaysian Healthy Ageing Society as well as Secretary to the Manipal Alumni Association of Malaysia. He is a member of the Academy of Medicine, Malaysian Psychiatric Association and Malaysian Mental Health Association. He was also Co-Chairman of the Organising Committee for the 1st World Congress on Healthy Ageing, 2012, Organising Chairman of the 2014 Global Manipal Alumni Health Sciences Convention and Organising Chairman for the 8th Malaysian Healthy Ageing Conference (1-2nd April, 2016).
Some his recent achievements include being awarded the Outstanding Service Award from the Australian Capital Territory Mental Health Services for the year 2009; and the Award for Innovation and Quality Assurance from the Australian Capital Territory Mental Health Services for the year 2009. He also has a Certificate of Completion in Mental Health Leadership from University of Melbourne, 2003 and a Diploma on Mood Disorders from the Lundbeck Institute, Skodsborg, Denmark, 2010. He was also part of a Disaster Medical Relief Team in Nepal post-Earthquake in August, 2015.

Dr Helen Benedict Lasimbang is a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist and the deputy Dean Clinical Services of Faculty of Medicine and Health Science, UMS. She obtained her Medical degree from University of Malaya and subsequently Masters in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from University of Malaya in 1998.
Dr. Helen is involved actively in teaching, research, clinical work and community services. She previously worked in the Ministry of Health for 12years, private practice in a private hospital for 9 years before joining the University in 2012. She is the chairperson of MERCY Malaysia Sabah Chapter since 2003. She is involved in many community and sport activities. She and a group of friends started the ‘Intervention Group for Alcohol Misuse (IGAM)’ for Sabah, Malaysia in 2007 focusing on reducing alcohol-related harm.
Her main interest and field is women’s sexual reproductive health, rights and community empowerment particularly in reducing alcohol related harm and promoting healthy lifestyle.

He is also a Senior Fellow, Justice Programs Office (JPO) of the School of Public Affairs (SPA) at American University, Washington, DC. and co-founder of the Institute for Wellness Education, in Teaneck, NJ. Mahmood Nazar Mohamed

Dato’ Dr Mahmood is currently a Professor of Psychology at Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS) and Deputy President (Academic & R&D) at Asia Metropolitan University (AMU), Kuala Lumpur. He obtained his B.Sc (BioSc) & B.A (Psy) at Point Park University, Pittsburgh; M.A Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, and PhD (Psy) from National University, Malaysia (UKM). Prior to his present appointment, Professor Mahmood was at University Utara Malaysia as Professor and Deputy Vice Chancellor and Deputy Director-General (Operations) at the National Anti-Drugs Agency Malaysia.
Professor Mahmood has conducted research with funding from UNODC, WHO-WPRO, NIDA, NDRI and a multitude of grants from the government, universities, NGOs and private sector. He has published 10 books, more than 60 journal papers and presented over 300 papers. He was the president of Malaysian Psychological Society (PSIMA) for two terms; presently a commissioner for ICCE program under Colombo Plan and also serve as advisor to Pengasih House, Drug Intervention Community and many other NGOs.

Dr. Parameswaran Ramasamy is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Addiction Medicine Specialist. He is currently the Head of Department of Psychiatry and Mental Health Services, Hospital Tuanku Ampuan Najihah, Kuala Pilah and visiting consultant of Addiction Medicine at Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar, Seremban. He is also the National Co-ordinator and Trainer for Addiction Psychiatry Sub-speciality Training, Ministry of Health Malaysia.
Dr. Parameswaran obtained his MBBS on 1995 from Rajendra Medical College, India and subsequently completed his masters of Psychological Medicine from Universiti Malaya in 2002 and has since then been working with the Ministry of Health. He is a member of Fellowship in Addiction Medicine awarded by University of Sydney, Australia. He is also a committee member of Fellowship of Addiction Psychiatry Sub-specialty Programme, MOH.
Dr. Parameswaran has special interests in Addiction Medicine, Psychosomatic Disorders and Consultation Liaison Psychiatry.
Prem Kumar Shanmugam

Prem is the CEO & Clinical Director of Solace Sabah. He is also one of the founding members and the Regional Director of the Asia Pacific Certification Board (APCB). APCB is actively involved in certifying addiction counsellors/therapists around the Asia Pacific Region. He also acts as the President of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Association of Singapore, while being one of the founding members as well.

Sivakumar Thurairajasingam currently holds the position of Associate Professor in Psychiatry at the School of Science and Medical Sciences, Monash University Malaysia and as a Consultant Psychiatrist at the Columbia Asia Hospital Nusajaya Johor.
He specializes in Addiction Medicine and has been working in the field for more than 15 years. He has a vast experience of managing agonist treatment clinics, as a national trainer for the National Drug Substitution Therapy (NDST) Program and running of workshops on Addiction Counselling and Treatment.
He is also the current President of Intan Life Zone, an NGO working in the field of HIV and Harm Reduction servicing the ‘most at risk population’, comprising of Intravenous Drug Users, Commercial Sex Workers, Transvestites and Homosexuals. Dr Siva is also a researcher into the fields of Mood Disorders and “Co-Occuring Disorders”.
Dr. Siva also serves as an advisor for the National Anti-Drug Agency, Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Programme, Befriender’s and other agencies.

Dr Winslow has worked in general psychiatry and addiction medicine at IMH since 1988. He was one of the pioneers responsible for the setting up and development of addiction services both in the hospital and in the community. His last appointment was as chief of the Addiction Medicine Department, IMH.
He has been a pioneer in addiction and impulse control disorders (alcohol, substance dependence, gambling, gaming, sexual compulsivity etc) in the Asia-Pacific region. He is a sought after speaker at addiction conferences around the region. Despite being a fully qualified psychiatrist, he has taken the time and effort to maintain and develop his therapy/counselling skills as seen by his being accredited as a certified master addiction counsellor and a certified clinical supervisor.
He has published and presented widely on both general psychological and addiction issues. He continues his academic and research interests through his academic appointments with NUHS and teaching in many counselling courses. His passion is to help therapists develop and hone their skills to effect real change in those they seek to help.
Dr Winslow is also the founder and executive director of Promises Pte Ltd, which is a mental health & addictions consulting and training company established to help healthcare professionals and individuals in Singapore.
In January 2011, Dr Winslow started The Winslow Clinic at Novena Medical Centre.

Sharmini Winslow graduated from the University of California; Irvine with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, and from Monash University with a Masters in Counselling. Her experience in the fields of the Performing Arts and Counselling has led her to develop a dynamic and innovative form of experiential therapy.
Her past work experience includes Changi Women’s Prison, Raffles Counselling Centre, The We Care Centre, Singapore General Hospital, KK Hospital, The Rainbow Centre, Executives in Corporations and Banks, the Breast Cancer Foundation and Dayspring Girls’ Home.
Sharmini works to release stress in her clients and develop self awareness. Her experience also includes 14 years as a Pilates practitioner. Her recent training includes Psychodrama with members of ANZPA, the Australian and New Zealand Psychodrama Association. She is actively involved with the 12 step recovery process, using the principle of the Steps in her work with addicts.
Her workshops- “Life is a Dance when you do the Steps” was included at an International conference in Scotland. Sharmini’s eclectic style of counselling and therapy in her Personal Growth Groups includes elements of body work, role play and the creative arts.
